From Thailand, ドラゴンフルーツ（Jonas Palm）

アイスコーヒーは私の毎日の友であるのですが、ある日タイ人の友人が黒い種の入ったクッキーを教えてくれました。ドラゴンフルーツの種はクッキーやパン、アイスクリーム、ジャム、ジュースなどの味付けに幅広く使われているのだそうです！！



もともと南アメリカ原産で、赤い実がなるサボテンです。果肉の色は白と赤か紫の2種類あります。白い果肉のものがもっともよく知られていて、白い果肉で果皮が黄色いものもあります。花は夜だけ、しかも一晩だけ咲きます。とても官能的な甘いバニラの強い香りを放ちます。

果実は厚みのあるピンクの皮を持ち、ジューシーで柔らかく、メロンを思わせるどっしりとした果肉は、キュウィより甘い熟した味がします。

ニカラグアではPitaya、メキシコではReina de la Noche、英語ではStrawberry pear（イチゴ梨）やJesus in the cradle（キリストのゆりかご）、それから中国語では火龍果などドラゴンフルーツは様々な名前で呼ばれます。

冷たくして食べるとより一層美味しいですよ。



Iced coffee is my daily life support and one day my Thai friend invited me on cookies with black seeds. She told me seeds from dragon fruit and widely used as flavorings in cookies, breads, ice cream, jam and drinks.
Originally from South America and it’s a cactus with red fruits and with two different fruit pulp, white and red/purple, the white pulp is the most common. It’s also a yellow type with white fruit pulp. Bloom only at night and one night only. The flower smells intensely of sultry sweet vanilla scent. The fruit has thick pink skin, juicy, soft, plump flesh, reminiscent of melon and the taste is sweet mellow sweeter than kiwi fruit.
The fruit has many names, Pitaya in Nicaragua, Reina de la Noche in Mexico , Strawberry pear or Jesus in the cradle in England and Fire dragon fruit in China.
