From Thailand, ブーゲンビリア(Jonas)

私の母は、植物を育てる魔法の手を持っています（英語で園芸の才のある人のことをグリーンフィンガーという言い回しがあります）。たとえば、私が小さな蘭をタイから持って行ったとします。すると毎年毎年、その蘭をより大きく、美しく彼女は育てるのです。

彼女の家では、夏、様々な色の美しいブーゲンビリアの鉢植えがパティオを彩ります。スウェーデンのような寒い国では花に冬を超えさせることが難しいでのす。

タイの北部のチェンマイに初めて来たときは高速道路の脇に鮮やかなブーゲンビリアが並んでいて、スウェーデンの鉄の柵と対照的で驚きました。



ブーゲンビリアはもともとアマゾンの熱帯雨林が原産です。色鮮やかな葉っぱは、花びらではありません。小さな目立たない３つの白い花に囲まれたのは、３つのつぼみです。この葉のおかげでブーゲンビリアは一年じゅう美しいのです。香りはありませんが、まるで白、黄色、紫、オレンジ、ピンク、赤からなる万華鏡のようです。



Bougainvillea

My mother has green fingers and a nice touch of flowers . . . as an example, I have taken small orchids with me from Thailand to her and she has succeeded
to get these flowers to bloom year after year, they become bigger and more beautiful with age. Summertime she has pots of bougainvillea on the patio like a beautiful colorful setting. In the cold North we have to overwinter the flowers to survive to the next season.
When I first came to Chiang Mai in northern Thailand and going highway north, the middle ground between roadways lined with Bougainvillea in all its colors.
A beautiful contrast to our steel railings in Sweden . . .
Bougainvillea is originally from the Amazon rainforest in South America.
There is a woody, turreted year round floral spirit climber. The colorful leaves we see are not the flowers; it’s 3 bracts that surround the 3 small inconspicuous white flowers. The beautiful leaves remains nice and long.
Bougainvillea has no specific odor but has an attraction in a rich kaleidoscope of colors . . . White, yellow, purple, orange, pink and red.
